The Bread & Roses Theatre announces new leadership team

From August 2026, Artistic Director Velenzia Spearpoint and Managing Director Rebecca Pryle become Executive Directors, focusing on strategy, fundraising, partnerships and growth. Adam Laboda joins as Artistic Director, with Lauren Cook as Theatre Administrator & Venue Assistant, leading the theatre’s artistic programme and day-to-day operations.

Howard Loxton, 1934 – 2026

If ever someone could be described as a stalwart, it was Howard Loxton, who passed away on 22 June at the age of 92. His knowledge, generosity and unfailing fairness made him one of the most respected voices, and he will be greatly missed by colleagues, readers and the wider theatre community.
