Mission Statement
Fringe Theatre Awards Limited (the “FTA”) has been created to recognise outstanding achievements in live Fringe Theatre productions.
The FTA’s volunteer Executive team of experienced assessors and reviewers from within the fringe theatre industry will guide the activities of the FTA.
The FTA will ensure best practice to identify categories and issue awards. This includes the recruitment and accreditation of assessors and reviewers.
The FTA aims to publicly recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements in Fringe Theatre.
The FTA will support fringe theatre by promoting achievements within the industry.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a show to be considered for an award, a show:
- Must be a professional production with paid performers and creatives
- Profit-share could be eligible if the performers are known to be professionals
- Must be in an eligible venue
Executive team

Richard Lambert
Executive Director
A former professional ice skater, Richard’s company LAMBCO Productions has garnered many accolades. He launched the Garden Theatre in Vauxhall and, in 2024, the award-winning Stage Door Theatre. He is also the Managing Director of LAMBCO Lighting.

Elaine Chapman
Human Resources
Elaine has run the online publication Theatre and Arts Reviews since 2018, championing new work and fringe productions. She was a Super Assessor for the Offies, and favours dark and slightly uncomfortable plays.

Caroline Friedman
Marketing & Comms
Caroline is a theatre producer and journalist. She has an a MA in Advanced Theatre Practice and is an experienced fringe theatre assessor. Caroline is also an award winning documentary film director, and is the founder of the free theatre streaming site Scenesaver.

Mary Pollard

John Farndon
Technical Director
Award-winning multi-book author, playwright and literary translator, John has had plays, adaptations and translations performed at theatres such as Donmar, Almeida, Finborough, Traverse, Wiesbaden Staatstheatre. He has been Offies Super Assessor for New Plays and Promising Playwrights for over a decade.

Steve Caplin
Digital and Design
A graphic designer and award-winning digital artist, Steve has been reviewing theatre since the 1980s. He is the author of a dozen non-fiction books including the Amazon #1 best-seller Dad Stuff. He currently writes for Everything Theatre, where he specialises in Immersive productions.
